Happy Halloween

I wrote in my last post how I made some orange and black bakers twine, using my Glimmer Mist.  Here is my layout that I used it on.

I used a couple of different Halloween papers.  I have to admit, I love Halloween paper, so I have several different collections!  Echo Park, Theresa Collins, and Making Memories are some of my favs.  I also used my skull washi tape, from the dollar bins at WalMart.  I'm sure you will see more of that!  Happy crafting!!

Create Banner

When I found out about the March Dust It Off Challenge at Scrap Our Stash, my first thought was to use my Fasenator, but I thought that I had given it away long ago. So I was going through my "old stuff" box to see see what I could use, and guess what? I found my Fasenator! Now what was I going to do with it?


I was making a banner as a gift in a swap. So I used the Fasenator as the way to attach the banner together. I had some of the decorative staples and just slid the ribbon under each side and tied knots. I learned alot about my Fasenator, and it has since earned it's spot back on my tool shelf! I'm not so sure it won't get dusty again though!


I used my Cricut Storybook cartridge for the letters and used my Gypsy to alter some of the shapes for the letter backings. Both the hot pink ribbon and the light pink scalloped oval were distressed with my mini mister filled with water and then scrunched up. I inked around the edges with Close to My Heart Bubblegum stamp pad.

My new blog banner! And instructions so you can make one too!

If you are reading this, you may have noticed that I have a new blog banner. It's not the greatest, but I made it myself. I still need to add to my digi papers and elements, so until then, it is kind of minimum. But incase anyone would like to add their own to their blog, I thought I would post instructions on how to do that. After all, it is just a mini scrapbook page!

I have Photoshop Elements and obviously blogspot, so these instructions will be most accurate for these programs. If you have other photo editing software, you may be able to follow along, but I have not used any other program.

First, open Photoshop and choose create on the main menu. Then I opened a new document.

Set the pixel size to 650 x 250. You may need to play with the size here, but I didn't have any problem uploading to blogspot.

Create your banner with digi papers or a cropped photo. I had to stich together three pieces of digi paper to go all the way across. You can find free digi papers and elements on the internet.

Save your banner as a psd file incase you need to make any changes to it later. Then save as a jpeg file so it can be uploaded to blogspot.

Then head on over to blogspot and open up your dashboard. Click on layout, then header. It will give you the option to upload a picture from your computer. If you added your blog name to your banner, click on the option to use your banner instead of the title. Upload you banner to your blog!! It's that easy!
