Scrap Our Stash Monthly Challenge

This month's challenge at Scrap Our Stash is to use three patterned papers from different collections and to use rub-ons.  It seems like I haven't scrapped in months,  oh wait, that's true.  So I decided that I needed to get back to it.  And what better way to start then a challenge?  I had lots of pictures to choose from, but I chose this years back to school photos.  I am current on birthday and back to school layout, so I decided to try to keep up with those layouts!

I managed to make all three layouts this week!  Yeah for me!  I used papers from LYB Head of the Class, and Generation Z collections.  Both were double sided, so I was able to use both sides.  Also papers from Echo Park Everyday Eclectic and one very old sheet of Reminisce Stripestock collection!  The rubons are the A, B, and C and are used from three different collections.  Other products are; Dear Lizzy stamp, Paper Studio brads and washi tape, American Crafts Thickers, and Cricut Street Sign.

Lego Party invite!

While searching through all the Lego party ideas, I came across this one for the invitation. I liked the idea of using a picture of Legos, but not the handwriting on the Legos. So we set up a little background and I let the twins pick out one guy for their picture! And this is what I came up with. I tried using the actual Lego Font, but since it's an outline, it didn't show up well on the background. I could have added the text on top of a white box, but I think this font looks just as cute. If you use this idea, make sure to offset your subject so you have space to print your information. I will send these to Sam's Club to be printed for $.17 each! Cheap and cute invitations!! Birthday time again!!

It's time to start planning my twins birthday party again! Wow! I can't believe that they are turning six! Where does the time go? They have both agreed on a Lego birthday party at my house. This will be a first for us. It's always been easier to pay someone to host it for me!! But we are running out of locations for something new and exciting. So a party at home it is!! My goal for this Lego party is to keep to a budget. I want to stay around $100 for decorations, gift bags, and games. I got a great start at the Dollar Tree. Instead of paying an outrageous amount for the Lego plates and napkins, I am going to use primary colors. I found square plates, napkins, forks, tablecloths, and buckets. I really don't think that 15 six year olds will be wondering where the Lego napkins are!!! Pinterest has been a great inspiration!! I've found so many games and ideas for decorations. And to stay on budget, I will have to make almost all of the decorations! I will keep you guys posted! Happy crafting! Pin It
