Fiskars Project-Family Command Center

I thought that I would share a project that I saw on the Fiskars website. This is a Family Command Center! This is one of those projects where I said, "Geez, I wish I had thought of that!" I have a dry erase calendar and memo boards for all of our family activities. But all of those school papers tend to get lost and forgotten about until it's too late. This helps solve that problem and get everything a little more organized. I say a little more organized because with a family of three boys under the age of seven, there is not much you can organize!! You can make this to fit in your home and even make a pocket for each child! You can do so much with this. I thought about making a board with pockets to hold my photos that I want to scrap soon! There are lots of possibilities with this one. Check out the Fiskars website for more great projects. And you can check out this project here. Happy crafting!

Back to School!!

Summer seemed to fly by this year! My boys are excited about going back to school and so am I! Last year for my oldest's teacher, I altered a 2 liter soda bottle and filled it with all kinds of goodies for her. This year, I decided on a paint can! These are so fun and easy to do. I finished this one in just under an hour. I would have finished sooner, but I was sidetracked by the tv! This is a clear can from Michael's. I wrapped a 4 inch piece of school themed printed paper around the can, added some ABC ribbon along the bottom. For the name plate, I used my Cricut with George and Basic shapes to cut a circle, and Plantin' Schoolbook for the letters and apple. Of course, what project would be complete if I didn't use my favorite white Uniball pen?! Assorted ribbons are tied to the handle. A great way to use up some of those scraps of ribbon! Inside the bucket is some notecards with her initial on it, Sharpie markers, Papermate pens, Post-It notes, Hershey Kisses, Lifesavers, magnetic memo clips, bookmarks, stickers, and a note pad. Just a little something to let her know how much I appreciate the job that she does! I hope both her and my little man have a great school year! Happy crafting!!

Too much new stuff!!

I haven't been getting much crafting done this summer, but that hasn't kept me from shopping for new supplies! I have bought some great stuff this summer and most of it, as you can see, is still sitting in the middle of my floor waiting to be put away!! I have a new Martha Stewart score board, tons of stuff from A Cherry on Top and Close To My Heart, and I found some great stuff at a huge discount at Big Lots and Tuesday Morning. I almost forgot about my new Cricut Cartridges! Two from the clearance section at WallyWorld and two from Ebay. I also ordered two packages from Peachy Cheap. I got some awesome rub-ons from Pink Paislee, and a kit of My Mind's Eye beachy/vacation stuff just waiting for my vacation pictures to be printed out! I have lots of great stuff to use these coming months! I can't wait to get back to it now that my boys are heading back to school! I hope that everyone had a great summer! Happy crafting!
